We have large and healthy bare-root peony tubers a We have large and healthy bare-root peony tubers available at Renfrow Hardware this week! Sarah Bernhardt (picture #1) is one of my favorite fluffy bomb types. The second picture is a white single that opens up blush but becomes pale white later - Krinkled White. We also have Karl Rosenfield, Red Sarah Bernhardt, and a few different ITOH hybrid varieties. Peonies are deer resistant perennials that die back to the ground each fall and resprout again in the spring. It will take 2-3 years to get your first blooms but after that they are likely to bloom their heads off each April for decades to come, likely outliving you! Minimum 8 hours of sunlight needed for maximum blooming. This flower surely is one of the QUEENS of the garden and an awesome combination in which very low maintenance provides consistent and stunning results. Renfrow’s is open Tuesdays-Fridays 8am-4:30pm.

There is still time to sow Larkspur seeds if you h There is still time to sow Larkspur seeds if you have not done so already! They will grow taller and stronger than any seeds planted in late winter or early spring. If planted now they will bloom in May. I have a few different packages of varieties available at the hardware store: mixed colors or an all-white pack. These flowers also dry beautifully for year-round enjoyment. Do note, they are poisonous so if you have very young children prone to putting everything in their mouths, I recommend waiting a few years before adding these cottage garden beauties to your landscape. I do not know with any certainty whether or not pets would be inclined to mess with them but think they likely are intuitively smart enough to avoid them.⠀
⠀
Other seeds that can be sown now for spring blooms: dill, ammi (queen Anne's lace), Daucus (purple ammi), nigella, bupleurum, agrostemma & more. I'm planning to sow another round of all of these seeds at the farm tomorrow!
Tulip bulbs are now here!! 🎉🌷 I have about 1 Tulip bulbs are now here!! 🎉🌷 I have about 10 of my favorite varieties set up now in a "build your own bulb garden" tulip bar. ⠀
⠀
We also have daffodils, alliums, muscari, anemones, ranunculus, Scilla, crocus, fritillaria, galanthus, starflower, bare root peonies, several perennial flower plants & a few other fall-planted bulbs available right now. It's a great time to plan for and plant spring blooming flowers!!
Yellow Sweet Georgia onion plants are here! Approx Yellow Sweet Georgia onion plants are here! Approx 50-60 plants per bundle. Plant now for mature bulb harvest around May, though you can eat them young and small all winter long. If you’ve never grown onions before, we HIGHLY recommend them as they’re a fantastic ego-boosting crop and they are incredibly low maintenance.
Muscari, also known as grape hyacinth, is one of m Muscari, also known as grape hyacinth, is one of my favorite sweet spring blooms. Plant now for blooms in late March/April. These can naturalize in your lawn or be planted in a bulb area of your garden. Their fragrance reminds me of grape koolaid or grape popsicles! We have a few bags of bulbs remaining at the hardware store for sale, amongst a bunch of other fun spring bloomers like daffodils, alliums, peonies, ranunculus, anemones, crocus, fritillaria, snowdrops, snowflake, Spanish bluebells, and more!!
I'm starting my second planting of anemones and ra I'm starting my second planting of anemones and ranunculus this week for spring blooms! Here’s your reminder to dig up your sweet potato Here’s your reminder to dig up your sweet potatoes before the first frost comes sometime in the next few weeks!

Gaspar and his nephews dug our patch last weekend and it’s always so funny to me how varied they are by size. These small ones will be saved to start slips for selling in the spring. And then there are others that would qualify as an extreme weightlifting size for Rosalyn. 🤣

After harvesting, sweet potatoes need to be cured for a couple of weeks in a warm, humid place to help them sweeten up before consumption! 🍠😋
